Process
01 Research
In the research phase, I conducted a comprehensive survey, interviews, and competitive analysis to gather insights. The survey and interviews highlighted key pain points designers face in advocating for fair pricing and showcasing the value of their work. Meanwhile, the competitive research explored the graphic design resource landscape, focusing on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, which often undervalue design work.
02 Wireframing
Building on the insights from my research, I identified the need for a website that functions as a calculator to help designers accurately price their services. In the wireframing phase, I focused on mapping out the structure and layout of the tool, exploring how users might interact with it to input project details and receive transparent, fair pricing recommendations.
03 Moodboard
Before diving into site design, I focused on building a cohesive brand system for Voucher. I created a moodboard to establish the visual tone and began developing a logo that encapsulated the tool’s mission of promoting fairness, transparency, and the value of design. This foundation set the stage for a polished and unified user experience.
04 Website Development
In the website development phase, I used Adobe XD to design a site focused on an intuitive and user-friendly experience. Beyond the pricing tool, I introduced additional features to enrich the platform. These included a profile tab for users to customize their accounts, a services tab to educate designers and clients on the scope of graphic design, and a forum tab to foster a collaborative community where industry questions could be asked and answered.
05 Brand Extensions
To bring the Voucher brand full circle, I developed marketing strategies aimed at driving user engagement. A key focus was small-scale guerrilla marketing that showcased the extensive range of everyday products made possible by designers. This campaign was adapted across both digital and physical touchpoints, reinforcing the message of design’s value and raising awareness for the tool.
06 User Testing
In the final phase, I conducted user testing to ensure the tool was accessible and intuitive for my key demographics. By gathering feedback from testers, I gained valuable insights to refine the site’s functionality and usability, ensuring that Voucher met the needs of its users effectively.
